Travelling With Kids: Tips for a Smoother Family Holiday
2 min read

A good family holiday is less about doing everything and more about having a rhythm that works for children and adults alike.
Pick the right destination
Beaches, resorts with kids' clubs, wildlife parks and gentle hill stations suit most ages. Avoid destinations with long road transfers every day for younger children.
Pace the day
One major activity a day, with a rest or pool time after lunch, keeps everyone happier. Build in buffer time for snacks, toilet breaks and the unexpected.
- Carry snacks, wipes, a small first-aid kit and any regular medicines.
- Let kids carry a small backpack with their own toys or books.
- Choose accommodation with a kitchen or flexible meal options if you have fussy eaters.
- Check age and height rules for activities in advance.
Involve the children
Show them photos and let them pick one activity each. Children who help plan are more excited and more cooperative on the day.
